Saxophonist Jeanette Harris

About the Artist
Jeanette Harris is a saxophonist, flutist, composer, and vocalist whose bright tone and confident stage presence have made her a distinctive voice in contemporary jazz. She began on piano at seven and picked up the saxophone at ten, later performing at the Monterey Jazz Festival while still in high school and continuing her studies at Berklee College of Music.
Harris expanded her experience on the road as a featured saxophonist and flutist with Teena Marie, then developed her own catalog through albums including Reflections, Saxified, and Summer Rain. Her music balances smooth-jazz melody with R&B rhythm, gospel warmth, and flashes of funk, while her vocals add another dimension to an already expressive instrumental voice.
Her St. James Live performance will showcase that full range. Expect graceful ballads, upbeat grooves, crowd-friendly melodies, and saxophone solos that move from silky to fiery. Harris performs with visible joy, creating a show that is polished, personal, and built to leave the audience lifted.
