About the Artist
Marqueal Jordan and Michael “Patches” Stewart bring together two careers shaped by deep musicianship, major-stage experience, and an instinct for making sophisticated music feel immediate. Jordan, a Los Angeles native who has long been part of Chicago's music community, is known as a saxophonist, vocalist, bandleader, and horn arranger. His solo work, beginning with the album Catalyst, blends contemporary jazz with R&B and soul.
Jordan has performed with artists including Brian Culbertson, Patti Austin, Peabo Bryson, George Duke, Aretha Franklin, and Al Jarreau. Stewart's own résumé stretches from early work on Labelle's “Lady Marmalade” to tours and recordings with Quincy Jones, the Brothers Johnson, Al Jarreau, David Sanborn, George Duke, Whitney Houston, Marcus Miller, Babyface, and Earth, Wind & Fire.
