Doobie Powell is a singer, songwriter, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose musical language was formed in the church and expanded across gospel, soul, jazz, and R&B. Born Hubert Leander Powell III into a deeply musical Hartford family, he absorbed harmony, rhythm, and improvisation early, developing the keyboard command and vocal flexibility that would become signatures of his work.
