Vocalist Shiron Denise

September 20 @ 4:00 pm

About the Artist

Shiron Denise is a Detroit-born jazz vocalist, harpist, actress, and wellness artist whose musical foundation was formed at Cass Technical High School. With a four-octave range and a style influenced by Nancy Wilson, Billie Holiday, jazz, pop, and R&B, she approaches songs as living stories—shaping the melody, lyric, and rhythm differently according to the moment.

Her development included study with Detroit pianist and mentor Harold McKinney and harpist Patricia Terry-Ross. She spent a decade performing with Ben's Friends Jazz Orchestra and has released solo projects including Such Is Love and The Way Love Is. That background gives her both big-band discipline and the freedom of an improviser, allowing her to move from elegant standards to soulful contemporary material with ease.

At Sunday Jazz Lounge, Shiron brings warmth, humor, and spontaneous creativity to an intimate setting hosted by Lori Williams. Expect sophisticated phrasing, rich storytelling, unexpected melodic turns, and a performance in which no song is likely to sound exactly the same twice.
