Dishwashers / Utility Staff

Job brief

St. James Live and SJ Cafe & Cocktails are seeking dependable Dishwashers and Utility Staff to help keep our kitchen and service operations clean, organized and running efficiently.

This position is essential to maintaining a safe, sanitary and properly functioning restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware and kitchen equipment
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely
• Organize and return clean items to designated storage areas
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing and utility areas
• Remove trash and recycling as assigned
• Sweep, mop and clean kitchen floors
• Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas
• Maintain adequate supplies of clean plates, glassware and utensils
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures
• Assist kitchen staff with basic utility tasks when requested
• Maintain cleaning supplies and notify management when stock is low
• Complete opening and closing cleaning responsibilities

Requirements

• Previous restaurant or commercial-kitchen experience helpful but not required
• Dependable and punctual
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to cleanliness and sanitation
• Ability to follow safety instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift and move dishes, equipment and supplies
