Food Runners / Bussers

Job brief

St. James Live and SJ Cafe & Cocktails are seeking dependable Food Runners and Bussers to support our service team and help maintain an efficient, clean and welcoming dining environment.

This role is ideal for someone who works quickly, communicates well and enjoys being part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food from the kitchen to guests quickly and accurately
• Verify table numbers and orders before delivery
• Assist servers with guest requests when appropriate
• Clear used dishes, glassware and utensils from tables
• Clean and reset tables efficiently between guests
• Refill water and assist with basic table maintenance
• Maintain clean and organized service stations
• Transport dishes and glassware to designated areas
• Communicate guest needs to servers and managers
• Assist with restaurant opening and closing duties
• Help maintain clear and safe walkways
• Support the FOH team during high-volume dining and live events

Requirements

• Previous restaurant experience helpful but not required
• Dependable and team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to carry trays, dishes and restaurant supplies
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
