Job brief

St. James Live and SJ Cafe & Cocktails are seeking friendly, attentive and knowledgeable Servers to provide exceptional service to our guests.

Our servers are an important part of the overall St. James Live experience, combining professional restaurant service with the energy and excitement of live entertainment.

The ideal candidate is personable, dependable, organized and comfortable managing multiple tables while maintaining a welcoming and polished approach to guest service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide attentive table service
• Explain menu items, specials and beverage selections
• Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders
• Answer guest questions and make knowledgeable recommendations
• Coordinate with kitchen, bar and service-support teams
• Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs throughout service
• Deliver food and beverages accurately and efficiently
• Process guest payments and maintain accurate checks
• Maintain clean and organized tables and service stations
• Follow responsible alcohol-service procedures
• Assist with opening, closing and side-work responsibilities
• Support teammates during high-volume service and live events
• Help create a warm, professional and memorable guest experience

Requirements

• Previous serving, restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy
• Basic knowledge of food, cocktails, wine and beverage service preferred
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to stand, walk and carry trays during extended shifts
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
